How to Access NOUN Online Lecture Recordings
How to Access NOUN Online Lecture Recordings
Missed a live facilitation? Or maybe you want to revisit a class your lecturer held weeks ago? NOUN lecturers record their live classes on Zoom, and those recordings are accessible directly from your e-Learn portal — at any time, from any device.
This guide walks you through exactly how to find and watch those recordings, step by step.
Step 1: Log In and Go to "My Courses"
Log in to the NOUN e-Learn portal at elearn.nou.edu.ng. Once you are on your dashboard, click on My Courses to see all the courses you are currently registered for.
Step 2: Open the Course You Want
From your course list, click on the course whose recordings you want to access. For example, if you are looking for recordings for Stress and Coping Measures, click on that course.
The course page will load with sections like:
- Introduction
- TMA
- Course Feedback
- Week 1, Week 2, Week 3… and so on
Step 3: Go to the Week and Click "Live Class"
Navigate to any week — start with Week 1 to check if your lecturer has facilitated that week. Inside each week, you will see:
- Week Discussion
- Live Class
- Instructional Videos
Click on Live Class. This will redirect you to Zoom (NOUN uses Zoom for all live facilitations).
Step 4: Click the Blue "Click Here" Link
On the Zoom page, you will see a blue link that says Click here. Click it. This takes you to the Zoom meeting page for that course.
Step 5: Check "Previous Meetings" and "Cloud Recordings"
Once on the Zoom meeting page, you will see two tabs:
- Upcoming Meetings — shows any scheduled live classes coming up
- Previous Meetings — shows a history of all past sessions that were held
Tip: If there is an upcoming class, you will see the join link under Upcoming Meetings. Lecturers typically use a recurring link, so the same link is used for every class in that course.
To watch recorded classes, click on Cloud Recordings. This shows all sessions that were recorded, listed by date. For example:
- April 10
- April 28
- May 7
- May 15
- May 16
Step 6: Select the Recording Date
Click on the date of the class you want to watch. You will see one or more recordings for that session (sometimes a single class is split into multiple recordings).
Step 7: Copy the Passcode — This Is Important
When you click on a recording, a passcode box will appear. You must copy this passcode before proceeding — without it, you cannot access the recording.
Click the Copy button next to the passcode. On mobile, there is also a copy button visible. The passcode is now saved to your clipboard.
Step 8: Enter the Passcode and Watch
After copying the passcode, click on the recording link. A page will open asking you to enter the passcode. Paste the passcode you just copied and click Watch Recording.
The recorded class will start playing immediately.
Can You Download the Recording?
Yes — most Zoom cloud recordings have a download option. However, be aware that lecture recordings can be very large files (several hundred MB or more). If storage space is a concern, download the video, watch it, and then delete it to free up space on your device.
Summary: Quick Steps
- Log in to e-Learn → click My Courses
- Open your course → go to any Week → click Live Class
- Click the blue Click here link on the Zoom page
- Go to Cloud Recordings tab
- Click the date of the class you want
- Copy the passcode shown on screen
- Click the recording → paste the passcode → click Watch Recording
What If There Are No Recordings?
If you see no previous meetings or no cloud recordings, it likely means your lecturer has not held a live facilitation for that course yet — or the recording was not saved. In that case, check back later or reach out to your lecturer or study centre coordinator.
Following these steps, you can catch up on any missed facilitation at your own pace — one of the biggest advantages of studying with NOUN's open and distance learning model.
